When it comes to authentication, trust is everything. And nothing builds trust faster than a seamless, recognizable experience from start to finish.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce Custom Domains in Rownd.
Now, you can connect your own domain to Rownd authentication flows—bringing your brand front and center across sign-in screens, magic links, emails, Smart Links, and more.
It’s not just a nice-to-have. It’s a standard that helps you build credibility, boost deliverability, and create a smoother experience for your users.
Why Custom Domains Matter
Stronger Brand Trust
When users see your domain on sign-in links and emails, they feel confident they’re in the right place.Better Email Deliverability
Emails coming from your own domain are less likely to get flagged as spam—and more likely to land in your users’ inboxes.Professional, Cohesive Experience
Every interaction with your app feels consistent and polished, from first click to full login.Industry-Standard Best Practice
Leading apps and platforms have moved away from third-party domains. Now, Rownd makes it easy for you to do the same.
Setting Up a Custom Domain in Rownd
Setting up a custom domain is straightforward. Here’s a quick overview of how it works:
1. Add Your Domain in Rownd
In the Rownd dashboard, navigate to your workspace or app settings and find the Custom Domain section.
Enter the domain (or subdomain) you want to use.
2. Update Your DNS Settings
Rownd will provide you with the DNS records you need to add (like a CNAME or TXT record) through your DNS provider.
This verifies your domain ownership and connects it to Rownd.
If you’re not sure how to add DNS records, don’t worry—we’ll provide detailed instructions depending on your domain host (and our team is always happy to help if you get stuck).
3. Verification and Activation
Once your DNS records are correctly set, Rownd will automatically detect them and verify your domain.
After verification, your Rownd flows—including authentication links and sign-in emails—will start using your custom domain.
No extra steps needed.
Where Your Custom Domain Shows Up
Once connected, your domain will be applied across:
Magic link URLs
Sign-in and sign-up email senders
Smart Link redirects
Authentication flows hosted by Rownd
Everything users interact with will reflect your brand, not a Rownd-owned URL.
The Takeaway: Build Trust from the First Click
Custom Domains may seem like a small change, but they make a big impact.
With just a few minutes of setup, you can create a more trustworthy, seamless experience—and bring your brand’s voice into every part of the user journey.
