SuperTokens and Rownd Announce Transition of Rownd Authentication Customers

SAN FRANCISCO and RALEIGH — March 19, 2026 — SuperTokens, an open-source alternative to proprietary authentication providers, and Rownd, a platform focused on frictionless onboarding, today announced that SuperTokens has acquired the Rownd Authentication business line.
This transition allows Rownd to focus on its growing AI line of business while providing authentication customers with a clear path forward on an enterprise-grade, open source platform. SuperTokens will lead migration efforts and work closely with customers throughout the transition.
A Seamless Transition
As part of this transition, SuperTokens will work with Rownd customers to support migration planning and implementation. SuperTokens has experience supporting authentication migrations and has developed an approach intended to minimize disruption for customers and end users during the transition.

Not Just a Migration, an Upgrade
The transfer of Rownd’s authentication customer relationships marks an important milestone for Rownd as it focuses its resources on its AI line of business.

Important Dates and Transition Information
To provide a clear roadmap for all stakeholders, SuperTokens has announced that it expects to sunset the legacy Rownd Authentication platform on June 20, 2026. Between now and the sunset date, SuperTokens and Rownd will provide migration paths to move users to the SuperTokens hosted environment. This timeline is intended to give customers sufficient time to plan and complete their transition.
